EdoMer Series | The Edo Influence

Kicking off from the Oriental inspiration of the Araki series, the glorious 17th century Edo period witnessed a sharp economic growth with a huge influence on the arts and culture. The most significant works were the ukiyo-ē (block print) of Hokusai, with The Great Wave of Kanagawa being the most characteristic & iconic artwork of the period. This aesthetic, which featured nature’s elements from birds, flowers to seascapes, in a two-dimensional manner, influence the season’s prints featuring elements from Seychelles.
